Subject: some information for you
Hi Anthony - I am a researcher for the LeMaistre family who lived in Trois Rivieres from 1651 - I have some 15000 on my tree now as well I have put together a detailed story of my ancestors life in New France from 1651 to 1703.
Of interest to you is that your ancestors and mine connect through the marriage of Jean Baptiste Forville Testard Papineau and Marie Catherine Crevier, a first marriage for J.B. but a 2nd marriage for M.C. They went on to have children as some of the LeMaistre family attended their baptisms.
I have certificates to prove the above.
To date I have the following information - Jean Baptiste Papineau - bapt. Montreal June 8, 1675
Marriage with Marie Catherine Crevier dit Bellerive Feb. 4, 1715, Riviere du Loup.
prev. marriage to Michel Des Serres (spelled diff. ways on certificates) son of Antoine and Mathurine Belanger. June 22, 1702 at Sorel, Quebec.
Catherine Crevier died and was buried in Sorel April 24, 1702.
The Crevier family comes with it's own extremely interesting story - three sons were killed by the Iroquois - one married Pierre Boucher, renowned Governor of Trois Rivieres, one was called to Quebec to debate the offering of alcohol to natives. I could go on and on. I trace my roots through Madeleine Crevier when she married my ancestor Charles LeMaistre, bourgeois, merchant of Montreal but born in Trois Rivieres.
The three children I have collected information on are Marie Josephe - bJuly 3, 1721, baptised the following day in Riviere du Loup. Godparents were Francois LeMaistre Duheme and Judith LeMaistre Lalongee. Cherubin Deniau offiicated.
Francois was likely the son of Charles LeMaistre and his wife Madeleine Crevier and Judith LeMaistre was the daughter of Jean LeMaistre and Catherine Michelle Godefroy.

The above refers to Godparents - to prove relationships... The Testards and the LeMaistre family were connected to the Crevier family.
I am sending my notes for Marie Catherine Crevier de Bellerive to help clarify. Hope this helps. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.
Marie-Catherine Crevier in Trois Rivieres on July 19, 1701 stood as Godmother to Michel LeMaistre, the infant son of Charles LeMaistre and Madeleine Crevier (her sister). Their brother Michel Crevier stood in as Godfather in the absence of Michel Trotier, the new Seigneur of Riviere du Loup. The Priest from Trois Rivieres, Elisee Crey officiated.
PRDH CERTIFICATE #88340
On June 22, 1702 in Sorel Catherine married Michel Desseres (Dessert) the son of Antoine Desseres and Mathurine Belanger. None of the parents attended nor were there any witnesses or priest recorded.
PRDH Certificate # 84009
Marie Catherine Crevier de Bellerive remarried after the death of Michel Desseres to Jean Baptiste Testard Papineau February 4, 1715 in Riviere du Loup.
Further Notes: Catherine was born about 1678 in Quebec (but not necessarily Quebec the city) and died in Louiseville previously called Riviere du Loup April 24, 1727.
Catherine and Jean Baptiste Testard Papineau went on to have at least two children.
Joseph born August 18,1722
Joseph Testard was born and baptised in Riviere du Loup (Louiseville) Quebec August 18, 1722. Both parents, Jean Baptiste Testard Papineau and Catherine Crevier attended the baptism. Standing as Godparents were first cousins Michel LeMaistre and Madeleine LeMaistre, brother and sister, adult children of Charles LeMaistre

Subject: RE: Papineau family tree
Anthony, I am Scott's father.
The information I have from various sources goes back to Samuel Papineau, born in 1670 in Montigny-en-Poitou, France. He was the first person in our wing of the family to come to Canada. His parents were Marie Delair and Samuel Papineau (supposedly born about 1638). The line from the second Samuel (1670) follows down through Joseph Papineau (1719-1785), Joseph Papineau (1779-1841), and the famous Louis Joseph Papineau (1786-1871).
If you go to the website and start with Geneology Data, Page 15 (notes pages), you will find Samuel (1670), the third entry. If you click on each of the above Papineaus, the website verifies what I have above. In addition to Louis Joseph, the second Joseph had nine other children. One of those nine was Andre Augustin Papineau, from whom Scott and I have a direct line. While Andre Augustin is listed on the website, this seems to be where the website ends with respect to us.
The succession from Andre Augustin to us is as follows:
Louis Ulrick Papineau (1832-1886). (supposedly "disappeared" in 1886 in Chicago)
Ulrich Papineau (1853-1928)
Frederick Joseph Papineau (my grandfather) (1880-1954)
Thomas Francis Papineau (my father) (1913-2000)
William Thomas Papineau (1944-who knows?)
Scott Alan Papineau (Born 1971)
I do have a lot of information about the specific birth and death dates and places, spouses, siblings, etc. (much too much to list here). None of it is on the computer, but I might be able to scan some of it if you are interested.
Best regards,
Bill Papineau
